After my cinder block toss at Too Much! I had about 500lbs of rubble left over. After some frustrated attempt to pass it on to permaculture, I decided that I should repurpose it. I finally got to use the bright pink tempera I had bought at the Pearl closing sale, and little by little it all got painted. During that time I was scouting locations. This lot that I chose has been empty for many years and just posted a notice for a 3 year construction permit extension - one more of so many open, underutilized "private" spaces. I really love the blend of natural and unnatural here. Sometimes it smelled like a California meadow - there was lupine! - and sometimes an urban toilet - and needles! We have art parks when we make art parks. Just go out and do it.
