110516 Honey McMoney pink cinder block install from Mark McBeth | Projects on Vimeo.

For the second part of my rubble installation, I decided I should take all the small rubble that would disappear in the grass of the lot to Macy's Union Square. Why Macy's? Aside from the fact that Macy's is this vain aspirational material void and totally represents so much of what I detest about Shopping, it's always fun to see how much attention people are paying. I really dug these floor to ceiling windows in the furniture department overlooking Union Square on my site visit. There is so much space at Macy's! The install was quick but not rushed. It's funny how there is a sort of disappointment about not getting 'caught' even when walking away is the plan. And then we went and gave them some money at the cafe two floors down.
